JONESBORO, AR - The Jonesboro Police Department is asking for the public's help in its investigation of a mysterious incident that was reported last week.

Thursday afternoon at 5 p.m., the Jonesboro Dispatch Center received information from a concerned caller who reported suspicious circumstances involving a young girl and two adults.

According to the caller, a red 4-door car was stopped roadside on Wood Springs Road near the U.S. 63 overpass.  Standing outside the vehicle were an adult white male and adult white female who appeared to be in distress.  The man was described only as having a blond ponytail, and there was no description of the woman.  The child was described as approximately 4 years of age, and wearing a long black dress.  Before further information could be obtained, the trio drove away eastbound on Wood Springs Road.

The JPD says it has no reports of any child abductions since the incident, and has been unable to locate the individuals in question.  However, "We would like to learn the nature of any possible problems and are asking for help in identifying these individuals," according to Sergeant Steve McDaniel.  The JPD is encouraging anyone with information about the incident to contact detective Captain Lynn Waterworth at 933-4614.
