LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Arkansas economy continues to boom, and that's filling state coffers at a faster rate than predicted. The state's fiscal office said yesterday that Arkansas's tax collections continued to rise in February. The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration reported that year-to-date net revenues since the July 1 start of the state's fiscal year totaled nearly $2.69 billion at the end of February. That's a 7.7 percent increase over last year and 5.5 percent above state forecasts.
The state's gross general revenues totaled $3.2 billion, nearly nine percent higher than last year and 5.6 percent above state forecasts.
