LITTLE ROCK (AP) _ A state judge's decision in Little Rock would

allow the transfer of a liquor permit to a Sam's Club store planned

for Fayetteville. Pulaski County Circuit Judge Ellen Brantley

dismissed a lawsuit brought by the Arkansas Beverage Retailers

Association to stop the transfer. The group argued that the sale of

alcohol by a large store like a Sam's Club would hurt the business

of smaller liquor store owners. But the judge said she couldn't

prohibit economic competition. The store planned at Fayetteville

would be Wal-Mart's only permit in Arkansas.
