NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - Much of Arkansas is under a tornado watch this morning as severe weather sweeps across the area.
National Weather Service meteorologist Emilie Nipper says counties south of a line stretching from Fort Smith, Conway and Searcy are under a tornado watch until 8 this morning. Lonoke County was under a more severe tornado warning, but that was set to expire just after 6 a.m.
The meteorologist said no tornado touchdowns have been confirmed. But she said more severe weather is moving into the area from Oklahoma and more showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day.
The National Weather Service also issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Greene and Woodruff counties in eastern Arkansas.
