KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ The student body president at the
University of Missouri-Kansas City has his job back.
Marcus Leach was impeached earlier last month by the Student
Senate, for not attending mandatory meetings. He learned yesterday
that he has been reinstated by Executive Vice Chancellor Patricia
Chancellor Guy Bailey has called the school's Student Government
Association ``dysfunctional'' and wants a student advisory council
appointed. Long says she based her decision on Bailey's comments,
and on a petition drive supporting Leach.
The school plans a campus-wide referendum on the matter later
this month, and student government elections are set for April.
Leach says he is excited to be back in office, and plans to run for
a second one-year term.
