COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) _ House Speaker Rod Jetton isn't the only

Missouri legislator who's moonlighted as a political consultant.

The Columbia Tribune reports today that representatives Brad Lager

and Doug Ervin were also on the payroll of political committees in

Former House budget chairman Lager earned 20-thousand dollars

that year for his political work on behalf of the Sixth Republican

Congressional District Committee. The Maryville Republican was paid

an additional 23-thousand dollars by the campaign committee of

Jeanne Patterson, who made an unsuccessful bid for Congress.

The same year, Kearney Republican Ervin earned 15-thousand from

the Sixth Republican Congressional District Committee, which raises

and distributes money to Republican candidates.

The committee's chairman James Thomas says they hired Lager as

executive director and Ervin as his assistant.
