LITTLE ROCK (AP) _ Governor Huckabee on the ``skinny ticket''

for president? That's what U-S Senate minority leader Harry Reid

suggests. Reid said yesterday that Arkansas's Republican governor

has as good a shot as anybody right now at the presidency in 2008.

The Democratic leader was in Arkansas today as he makes what he

calls his ``red state tour.'' He was asked about Huckabee's

interest in running for chief executive.

Reid said, quote, ``He might as well join the crowd. There's no

frontrunner at this point,'' unquote. Reid said he didn't know

Huckabee. But he said, quote, ``I know he lost a lot of weight.

Maybe he can be on the skinny ticket,'' unquote

The Arkansas governor has gained national attention for his

105-pound weight loss, his health initiatives, and his chairmanship

of the National Governors Association. In the last few months, he

has traveled several times to New Hampshire, Iowa and other states

considered critical in the early stages of the presidential race.
