Nestlé Plans $19.7 Million Expansion

JONESBORO, AR -  Nestle Foods plans a $19.7 million expansion for its plant in Jonesboro.

Nestlé officials on Wednesday revealed plans to add a new product line to manufacture Hot Pockets here.  The Jonesboro plant already makes Stouffer's and Lean Cuisine food products.

The plant employs approximately 400 workers.  According to the report, the new line will initially add about 65 new jobs by year's end, with an additional 35-to-45 jobs expected in early 2007. 

Construction on the new production line is expected to begin immediately, according to the report.  The local plant opened in 2003.
