Clinton Weighs In On Possibility of Huckabee Presidential Run

MARCH 17, 2006 - Posted at 3:42 p.m. CST

LITTLE ROCK, AR - If Governor Huckabee runs for president, Bill Clinton won't stand in his way.

Clinton and Huckabee were both at yesterday's dedication of the Heifer International headquarters in Little Rock.

Huckabee, a Republican, is considering a presidential bid but has not declared himself a candidate.  He has made multiple visits to Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, key early presidential primary states.

Clinton says Huckabee or anyone else with the proper motivations should go ahead and run if they want to be president.  Clinton says a candidate should have a reason above mere ambition for running and explain that to voters.  Clinton also says any candidate has to be willing to pay the price of running.
