FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) _ A man who two weeks ago allegedly
threatened a Washington County deputy and was shot has been
released from a hospital and sent to jail.
Twenty-nine-year-old Paul Monroe of Springdale faces multiple
charges, including aggravated assault and terroristic threatening.
Deputies were called to Prairie Grove on March fifth after a
stabbing. Monroe allegedly threatened sheriff's Sergeant Brian
Comstock with a shard of a large mirror. Comstock repeatedly told
Monroe to drop the glass. Monroe didn't and Comstock shot him in
A department investigation found that Comstock acted properly
but a state police investigation is still open.
Monroe was discharged from the hospital on Friday and then
booked into the Washington County Jail.
