Rusty Yates Re-Marries Ahead of Ex-Wife's Retrial

March 19, 2006 - Posted at 1:23 p.m. CST

HOUSTON (AP) _ The Texas man whose ex-wife is about to be

retried for the drowning deaths of their five children has

remarried.

Rusty Yates married Laura Arnold in a private ceremony at Clear

Lake Church of Christ in Houston, where they met. It's also the

same church where the funeral for his slain children was held.

Yates divorced Andrea Yates in March 2005, three years after she

was sentenced to life in prison on two murder convictions. An

appeals court overturned those convictions based on mistaken

testimony by a psychiatrist.

She is again pleading insanity at her retrial. A request to

delay the trial until summer is due to be heard before the trial

starts Monday.
