LITTLE ROCK, AR - Tuesday marks the start of the political filing period.
Candidates can file starting at noon Tuesday. The filing period ends April 4.
This year, there are 172 positions up for election. That includes federal, state and district offices and non-partisan judgeships.
The primary will be May 23 and the general election will be November 7.
All of the state's constitutional offices, along with all four of the state's U.S. House of Representatives seats are up for election this year. Seventeen of the 35 seats in the Arkansas Senate and all 100 of the state House of Representatives seats are also up this year.
There are also four positions on the state Supreme Court, four on the state Appeals court and five circuit court judge spots open.
