Paragould Man Killed in Fatal Wreck Which Shuts Down Highway 49

BROOKLAND, AR -  U.S. 49 near Brookland was shut down in both directions last night after a fatal wreck. One person is dead following the violent collision in Brookland, identified as 42-year-old Mark Reed of Paragould.

It happened just after 6:00 p.m. State Police say a black S.U.V. was traveling north on Highway 49 when the driver crossed the center lane and hit a white Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Four to five others were taken to the hospital. Also injured in the accident were 68-year-old Edward Johnson of Marmaduke, 67-year-old Ora Johnson, also of Marmaduke, as well as Nita and Kalee Reed, ages not available, both of Paragould.
