West Memphis College To Unveil New Workforce Technology Center Today

WEST MEMPHIS, AR - Today marks the official dedication of a workforce technology center at Mid-South Community College in West Memphis.

The center is expected to help prepare workers for the automotive industry.  Among those expected to attend the dedication is the president of Hino Motors, which is building a truck parts plant in nearby Marion.  U.S. Senator Mark Pryor is also expected to be on hand for the afternoon event.

"The Workforce Technology Center will give us an unprecedented opportunity to proactively address the employee training needs of existing and emerging industries in our region," said Dr. Glen Fenter, MSCC president.

The new center includes 38,154 square feet of general classroom, high-tech multi-media classrooms, expansive automotive & manufacturing training areas, and diesel maintenance technology equipment designed to prepare workers for future job opportunities in eastern Arkansas.
