MARCH 29, 2006 - Posted at 3:34 p.m. CST

PARAGOULD, AR - A contractor for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department will be conducting a motorist survey along U.S. 49 and Business Route 49 immediately north of 8 Mile Creek in Paragould during the first week of May.

The survey is being conducted as part of the on-going U.S. Highway 412 improvements study, and will help determine future traffic patterns in and around Paragould.

The survey will be conducted by a traffic engineering firm on a single day during the week of May 1, and will take part during the following time periods: 6:30-8:30 a.m., 11 a.m.-1 p.m., and 2 p.m.-6 p.m.

Motorists will be stopped briefly and be given a postage-paid, pre-addressed post card as they pass southbound into Paragould along Highway 49.  Motorists will be asked to complete and return the cards within 24 hours.
