Neighbors Shocked by Death of Couple

April 2, 2006 - Posted at 12:25 CST

BRENTWOOD, Mo. (AP) _ Neighbors of a St. Louis-area couple are

reacting in shock after learning police say they died in a

murder-suicide.

Authorities say 53-year-old Roland Pena on Friday

night shot his 43-year-old wife, Jill, and then turned the gun on

himself. One of the couple's two young sons found the bodies and

ran to a neighbor's house for help.

Neighbors and friends told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the

couple had argued recently about finances and were consulting

divorce attorneys.

The two children, ages 12 and ten, are staying with relatives.
