CARUTHERSVILLE, MO - Heavy winds are blamed for the death of one man in southeast Missouri as a line of powerful storms moved across the Mid-South and Midwest.

Stoddard County officials say a 42-year-old man was killed when high straight-line winds knocked over his mobile home near Circle City last night.

Heavy storm damage was also reported in Caruthersville, where a Pemiscot County dispatcher said the city was under a state of emergency last night.
