SEARCY, AR - A ground-breaking is set tomorrow at Searcy for a new, $2.3 million, 15,000-square foot fire station. The beginning of construction work comes more than a year after a fire gutted the city's historic downtown fire station.
Mayor Belinda LaForce said it should take about a year to build the new station.
On January 27 of last year, a fire that raged for three hours destroyed the 1930s-era structure that housed the main fire station as well as Searcy District Court, the court clerk's offices and a court probation office.
