Arkansas Senate Approves $6 Million for Flu Drug Stockpile

APRIL 6, 2006 - Posted at 8:07 a.m. CST

LITTLE ROCK, AR - The state House of Representatives will now consider a bill to authorize $6 million to stockpile flu drugs in case of an emergency.  The Arkansas Senate unanimously approved the spending proposal yesterday.

The money would come from a surplus in the state's general improvement fund.  It would pay for anti-viral drugs, such as Tamiflu, until June 2007.
