Severe Weather Threatening Region 8 Again

JONESBORO, AR - Severe weather is a good possibility again in parts of Region 8 today, according to K8 StormTEAM forecaster Chris Castleman.

An upper level low combined with moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will set the stage for strong thunderstorms late this afternoon.  Straight line winds and damaging hail are likely.  Castleman says the areas of Region 8 most likely to get severe weather stretch from Blytheville and Kennett southward to Forrest City and Wynne.

Temperatures are expected to soar in the lower 80s this weekend, with plenty of sunshine.  However, these elements may prove to be a negative.  The heating will be one of the mechanisms responsible for spawning possible severe weather.
