LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Arkansas House today passed a revised $132.5 million funding package for the state's 251 school districts.

The measure passed on a 79-17 vote.  The bill calls for a 1.6 percent raise for teachers in the first year of the two-year funding program.   Under the bill, teachers would get a 2.4 percent pay increase in the second year.

The Senate wanted a larger raise and the House has come up in what it is offering.  The uppper chamber will now consider the House version of the bill.
