LITTLE ROCK (AP) _ Arkansas House members can collect campaign
contributions again, even though the current special session won't
formally end until May First.
House members voted yesterday to suspend a rule that prevented
members from taking campaign money during a special session.
Members were worried an extended break in contributions would
disrupt campaigning for the May 23rd primaries.
Legislators entered a recess yesterday after approving a school
funding bill, but the special session stays in effect for the rest
of the month.
