JEFFERSON CITY, MO - Flags at state government buildings were at half-staff today to honor a transportation worker killed on the job last week.

Veteran MoDot inspector Bob Eftink was killed Friday when a dump truck backed over him in a southeast Missouri contsruction zone.

This morning, Governor Blunt asked that flags remain at half-staff until dusk tonight.

The Marble Hill man was 62 and had been a state Department of Transportation employee for 20 years.

He was working on Interstate-55 when the accident occured Friday afternoon near the town of Old Appleton.

MoDot officials say they are unsure if the dump truck had sounded an alarm when it backed up.  The truck was not owned by the state.
