Craighead County Veterans to Host Weekend Breakfast for 875th

APRIL 11, 2006 - Posted at 2:58 p.m. CST

JONESBORO, AR - The Craighead County Veterans Monument Foundation will host an information breakfast session Saturday morning at 8 a.m. at the ASU National Guard Armory.

The gathering is described as a "briefing about the mobilization and impending deployment of the 875th Combat Engineer Battalion to Iraq during America's Globar War on Terrorism."  Members of the Veterans Monument Foundation will brief the 875th on what it "might be able to do in support of the 450 young soldiers who will soon deploy for duty in Iraq."

The 875th received its mobilization orders last month.  The Guardsmen will report to Fort McCoy, Wisconsin in mid-July for training, and then deploying to Iraq in the fall.
