LITTLE ROCK, AR - Former State Treasurer Jimmie Lou Fisher was admitted to St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock this morning after suffering a small stroke in her Little Rock home.  While initially experiencing some paralysis in her legs, the Paragould native's condition is reported to be improving.

Fisher was appointed by then Governor Bill Clinton to serve as Auditor of the state, a position she subsequently won election to before going on to serve 20 years as the state's Treasurer.  After leaving that office, she ran an unsuccessful campaign for Governor as a Democrat in 2002.

Fisher is currently serving as campaign chair for Jonesboro Democrat Dustin McDaniel's Democratic campaign for Attorney General.  McDaniel is currently a State Representative.
