Woman Arrested in Accident Injuring Arkansas Boy

April 15, 2006 - Posted at 1:08 p.m. CST

PEA RIDGE, Ark. (AP) _ A Missouri driver is accused of hitting a

six-year-old boy with her truck and later threatening to kill him

if he talked about the accident.

27-year-old Misty McCasland, of Seligman, Missouri, faces a

charge of leaving the scene of an accident, terroristic threatening

and intimidating a witness, authorities say.

The boy, Don Busby II, suffered minor injuries when he was hit

April 1, according to an affidavit filed with the Benton County

prosecutor. McCasland went to the boy's school on April 5 and

threatened to kill him if he continued to talk about the accident,

the court document says.

An anonymous caller reported seeing McCasland shaking and

yelling at the boy. McCasland was arrested Monday by Benton County

sheriff's deputies. She was released from jail Wednesday on a

10-thousand dollar bond.
