Man Gets Life Plus 30 for Killing Auto Shop Owner Over Repair Bill

LIBERTY, Mo. (AP) _ A killing over a 500-dollar auto repair bill

leads to a sentence of life plus 30 years.

Forty-six-year-old David King of Kansas City, Kansas, was

sentenced yesterday in Liberty, in Clay County Circuit Court. He

pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and armed criminal action in

the death of Claude Welch.

Welch was strangled in May 2004 in his auto shop in the Kansas

City suburb of Pleasant Valley.
