Two Disaster Recovery Centers to Open in Arkansas

April 16, 2006 - Posted at 12:06 p.m. CST

UNDATED (AP) _ Federal emergency officials say victims of recent

tornadoes in eastern Arkansas will be able to get help from two

disaster-recovery centers, starting tomorrow. The two

disaster-recovery centers will open in Marmaduke and Wynne.

The centers will serve homeowners, renters and business owners

who were affected by the severe storms and tornadoes earlier this

month. Also, Arkansans affected by the storms can call a toll-free

number for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, to register for

federal and state disaster assistance. Or they can go on-line for

an application. The government urges people to register before

coming to a disaster recovery center.

The FEMA number is 1-800-621-3362. The site is www.fema.gov
