Arkansas Gas Prices up Ten Cents in Last Week

APRIL 20, 2006 - Posted at 4:02 p.m. CST

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Arkansans are paying about 10 cents more per gallon of regular unleaded gas than they did just one week ago.

But a spokesman for the AAA said today that prices may dip again as refineries prepare to produce more gas for the summer driving season.

AAA spokesman Mike Right says a drop in refining capacity and inventory levels along with rising crude oil prices has driven the average price per gallon in the state to $2.75.

That average is sixty cents more than in April 2005, and about thirty cents more than last month's average of $2.46 per gallon.  The national average is at $2.83.
