JPD Prowl Unit Makes Drug Arrest Following Traffic Stop, Foot Chase

JONESBORO, AR - Members of the Jonesboro Police Department's Prowl Unit seized three pounds of marijuana and arrested one individual late Wednesday afternoon following a traffic stop and short foot pursuit on Stadium Boulevard, near Stallings Lane.

Police arrested 22-year-old Derek Poole of Jonesboro.  Police say he was in the possession of a plastic bag containing three pounds of marijuana at the time of his capture.

Poole is charged with fleeing on foot and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.  While the incident happened Wednesday afternoon, the JPD did not release the information until Thursday afternoon.
