Lawmakers Override Huckabee's Veto of Teacher Bill

APRIL 21, 2006 - Posted at 3:26 p.m. CST

LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Arkansas House and Senate have voted to override a veto by Governor Huckabee on a bill to train science teachers.

The House voted 71-to-13 to override.  That followed with a 24-to-3 vote in the Senate.

Huckabee vetoed the bill because he felt it would endanger college scholarships by pulling a half million dollars from the state higher education budget.
