APRIL 24, 2006 - Posted at 10:47 a.m. CST

BLYTHEVILLE, AR -  The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program's next "Walk Through History" tour will visit downtown Blytheville on May 6.

The tour will begin at 11 a.m. at the Mississippi County Courthouse at 22 West Walnut Street, and will tour Blytheville's historic commercial core, which recently was nominated to the National Register of Historic Places.  Main Street Blytheville is co-sponsoring the tour.

In the "Walks Through History" program, AHPP historians each month provide free guided walking tours of historic structures and districts across Arkansas.

A similar event is planned in Newport on November 4.  All tours are free and open to the public.
