Civic Leaders Hope to Raise Money for Precious Doe Park

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Civic leaders in Kansas City have

announced plans to raise money for a new park in memory of the

slain child once known only as Precious Doe.

The decapitated body of the three-year-old was discovered in

2001. But it took four years to identify the youngster as Erica


Her mother and stepfather have been charged in the killing.

The park would cover about five acres on the city's east side,

including the site where Erica's remains were found.
