Arkansas Man Sentenced to 60 Years for Murder Solicitation

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (AP) _ A man accused of offering a boat and

ten-thousand dollars in exchange for the murders of two people was

convicted yesterday in Baxter County and sentenced to a total of 60

years in prison.

A jury found Thurman C. Russell of Henderson guilty of two

counts of solicitation to commit murder. The jury recommended a

30-year sentence on each of the convictions, and the judge made the

sentences consecutive.
