Arkansas Woman Has 70,000 Bees Living Inside Walls of Home

WRIGHT, Ark. (AP) _ In Wright, Mary Stacks has got an offer for

wannabe beekeepers: Fresh honey and all the bees you want, free of

charge. Stacks has about 70-thousand honeybees living inside her

bedroom wall, and she hopes someone will take the insects out of

her house and into a proper hive. From her yard, the buzzing is

audible. Her husband, David, regularly gets stung when he rides his

lawnmower. Stacks hasn't mounted her window air conditioner unit

for fear of disturbing the bees. The honeybee is Arkansas' state

insect, and it's not uncommon for the insect to congregate inside

walls. James Rhein of the Arkansas Beekeepers Association's ``swarm

control'' team says his group has extracted thousands of bees from

buildings so far this spring.
