SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) _ A plane with 32 people aboard makes an
emergency landing in southwest Missouri after smoke is reported in
the cock pit.
It happened yesterday at Springfield-Branson National Airport.
The regional Trans States Airlines flight was traveling from
Austin, Texas, to St. Louis when it made the successful emergency
landing around 3:30 p-m.
The plane carried 29 passengers and three crew members.
Airport spokesman Kent Boyd said one female passenger was taken
to a hospital after she slipped while evacuating the plane.
The cause of the fire was undetermined, and the airport was
closed for about an hour.
