ASH FLAT, AR - Two men have been arrested in a double homicide that happened nearly two decades ago in Sharp County.

Steven Victor Wertz, 56, of Kissimmee, Florida, was arrested Monday night in Florida on two capital murder charges, according to Sharp County Sheriff Dale Weaver, who held a news conference this morning at the Sharp County Courthouse in Ash Flat.  As K8 News reported yesterday, 39-year-old James Snyder, Jr. of Georgetown, Kentucky, was arrested Tuesday night in central Kentucky.  He is charged with two counts of being an accomplice to capital murder.

The pair are charged in connection with the New Year's Eve, 1986 deaths of Terry and Katherine Watts of Ash Flat.  The couple was found slain in their home.  Their infant son, Joshua, was found unharmed near his father's body.

Sheriff Weaver says both suspects are expected to be extradited to Arkansas.

K8 News will have a report on the latest details in this case tonight at six.
