MOUNTAIN HOME, AR - The water level in Norfork Lake rose two feet after rains this week, but the Army Corps of Engineers says more rain is needed for the lake to have a normal tourist season.
The lake is still two feet below its normal level.
In February, the lake's level was 15 feet below its normal level. Nearly ten inches of rain have fallen in the Mountain Home area since then, which helped to raise levels at Norfork and other area lakes.
The National Weather Service says the heavy rains of late are a temporary condition and can't yet be called a trend. The weather service says all of Arkansas' remains in a drought.
