Only One Arkansas County Now Not Ready with Voting Machines

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Electronic voting machines are ready for next Tuesday's primary voting in every Arkansas county except one, Jefferson.

Deputy Secretary of State Janet Harris says her office is expecting only minor problems during voting next week, even though some clerks may have trouble with the new technology.

Jefferson County's election commission has opted to use lever machines for the primary.  Harris says the other 74 counties should have at least one electronic voting machine per voting site.
