Federal Drug Trial for Newport Alderman Delayed

LITTLE ROCK, AR - The federal drug trial of a Newport alderman that was scheduled to begin today in Little Rock has been delayed until next month, according to a spokeswoman for U.S. Attorney Bud Cummins.

June 26 is the new trial date for Pinkey McFarlin, who faces 25 counts related to the possession and delivery of crack cocaine and Xanax.  He also faces an additional charge of witness tampering in connection with an incident that allegedly occured in late April.

McFarlin's wife, Tammie, also faces two counts of aiding and abetting drug possession, with the intent to distribute.
