Arkansas Still Counting Votes from Tuesday's Election

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Some votes from Tuesday's Arkansas primary have still not been counted because of technical problems with new equipment.

Election officials have just a short time to fix problems left over from the primary before early voting begins next week for the June 13 runoff.  Officials say if results from Tuesday's primary are not all counted and certified, early voting could be delayed.

Three counties...Garland, Lonoke and Phillips, are still compiling their results from Tuesday's vote.

Secretary of State Charlie Daniels says that, overall, he is "very pleased" with how the new touch-screen voting system worked.
