School Principal at Atkins Arrested for Drunk Driving

ATKINS, AR - State Police say the principal of Atkins High School has been arrested on a drunken driving charge.

Captain J.R. Hankins of the Arkansas State Police says Robert Travis was arrested by trooper Bradley Gilkey yesterday evening.  Travis is charged with driving while intoxicated and driving left of center.

The Pope County Sheriff's Office says the 58-year-old Travis was released on $850 bond for the misdemeanor charge.

Travis has a court appearance scheduled for June 20.
