RUSSELLVILLE, AR - State Game and Fish Commission officers have relocated a bear that had decided to explore part of Russellville.
The bear was spotted in the city's downtown at about 8:30 a.m. on Sunday and was also in a resident's back yard.
Resident George Cotton says the bear had cleared fences before it got into a tree. Game & Fish officers shot the beast with a tranquilizer dart. The bear went further up the tree before tumbling down.
Officials estimated that the male 130-pound bear is about two years old.
Before releasing the bear in northern Pope County, Game & Fish officers tagged his ear and tattooed his mouth.
