JONESBORO, AR -- An afternoon shooting has police searching for one man and a Jonesboro woman in the hospital.

It all started as a fight between two men on Hope Street around 4:00 Wednesday. A woman tried to intervene, and was shot in the neck.

The suspect, James Young immediately fled the scene and is still on the run. Jonesboro Police were able to track down his green car, but Young wasn't driving it. The driver of the vehicle was taken in for questioning and was released, but the whereabouts of the suspect are still unknown.

Police have learned that the 43 year old James Young is driving a burgundy Cadillac with damage to the back end of the car.

"If anyone comes in contact with that vehicle, we would certainly ask that they call the police. The Jonesboro Police Department, or we've put out a message local to all the law enforcement agencies, so they should call the Jonesboro Police Department if they have any information on where this Mr. Young may be," says Sgt. Stephen McDaniel of the Jonesboro Police Department.

The victim, a Jonesboro woman, was transported to St. Bernards Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.

Again, the suspect at large is 43-year-old James Young, of either Paragould or Jonesboro. If you have any information regarding this case, call the Jonesboro Police Department immediately.
