BATESVILLE, AR -- Riverside Park in Batesville was crowded with Christians Saturday, as John 3:16 Ministries kicked off its first Unity Festival.
"I'm sold out on John 3:16," said Frank Shell of Batesville. "I've been working with them for several years, and I just believe in what they're doing and what they're standing for."
John 3:16 Ministries is a spiritual boot camp that helps men with addictions.
"I've had some drug addictions for a couple of years now, and wanted to get my life straight," said Bryce McGhee. "I never could get a grasp on how to do that until I found out about John 3:16."
Christians united at the park to support the ministry and everything it stands for.
"I think Christian people everywhere ought to work together," said Shell. "John 3:16 is a wonderful cause for us to work together and be united," he added.
Donations were also taken at the festival, to raise money for a halfway house that the ministry will build for residents who need a stable environment.
"Their track record is fantastic, as far as rehabiliting these young men that have gotten in trouble," said Shell.
Booths were set up throughout the park, and it was a fun-filled Christian enviornment with music and entertainment.
"I think it's great," said Shell. "It's music that everybody will enjoy."
Everyone was in good spirits at the festival, and Shell said it was all to help those men who need it most.
