Pair Of Suspected Check Forgers On The Loose!

There is some serious check forging going on in our crime of the week.

We are looking for two suspects in this crime. Both of them caught on security tape at Wallace and Owens grocery in Jonesboro. Jonesboro Police suspect these two women in a series of check forgeries. So far, seven checks have been passed all over town, three of them at Wallace and Owens. Detectives believe both women were writing the checks out of the same account.

If you think you can ID either one of these women, call Crimestoppers right now, 935-STOP and tell police what you know. Your information could be worth cash.

It's a real "Smithy" edition of Warrant Watch this week.

Andrea L. Smith has one dozen warrants. Eight of them are for non-payment of fines. The other four are for contempt of court.

The warrants honchos are also looking for Jason D. Smith. He's a hot check writer. He has 10 hot check warrants out of Jonesboro. He is also wanted out of Craighead County for felony fraud.

If you know one of these Smiths,  Jason D. or Andrea L., call Crimestoppers and drop the dime on 'em. Call 935-STOP or toll free, 888-566-STOP. Instead of asking your name, they'll give you a tip number. Hang on to it and keep watching Crimestoppers. If there is an arrest in your case, call or email Sgt. Steve McDaniel at JPD and tell him your tip number. He'll tell you if it's worth some Crimestoppers cash. Give 'em a call. And remember when you see crime, call Crimestoppers, 935-STOP.
