LITTLE ROCK, AR - The state Parole Board says a man convicted of murder in Greene County will be recommended for clemency.

Denver Mitchell, Jr., 36, convicted in 1992, is serving a life sentence for first degree murder.

Mitchell was convicted of killing 74-year-old Willard Williamson of Redlands, California in 1990 after Williamson picked up Mitchell, who was hitch-hiking.  After sharing drinks at two Paragould bars, Mitchell testified, the two men fought in a field outside town.

The recommendation will go to Governor Huckabee after a 30-day public comment period.
