Bootheel Man Dies in House Fire

SENATH, MO - An eldery southeast Missouri man is dead following a weekend fire at his residence near Senath.

The victim is identified as 78-year-old Leland Miller.

At approximately 1:05 a.m. Saturday, Dunklin County's Dispatch Center received a call of a house fire on County Road 562.  The Senath Fire Department then responded to the blaze.  Upon entry into the burning building, firefighters found the man's body. 

The cause of the fire is not known at this time, and it is under investigation by the Dunklin County Sheriff's Department and the State Fire Marshall.
