Governor Calls for Investigation into Deaths at State Facilities

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Governor Blunt is calling for a plan

to investigate deaths at state mental-health facilities.

Blunt wants the agencies responsible for overseeing state health

facilities and public safety to create the plan.

That follows a recent series of articles by the St. Louis

Post-Dispatch about deaths and injuries that were never

investigated at state mental-health facilities.

A spokeswoman says the plan is unrelated to the newspaper
