POPLAR BLUFF, MO - A 24-year-old Kentucky man is dead after a swimming accident on the Black River near Poplar Bluff in southeast Missouri.

The Missouri Water Patrol says Jason Lippart of Paducah, Kentucky, was swimming with friends early Sunday when he began floating downstream.  The Water Patrol says his friends saw him go under the water, and he did not resurface.

Lippart's body was recovered at 7:45 this morning during a dragging operation.
